TOPPAN PRINTING acquires 100% of the shares of the leading international décor printer INTERPRINT to further strengthen its global expansion strategy.

INTERPRINT, with its worldwide presence and industry-leading design expertise, becomes part of the TOPPAN Group. Together with the acquisition of Decotec Printing (Spain) in 2017, TOPPAN can further strengthen its position as the world's leading supplier to the printing industry.

(Tokyo, Japan / Arnsberg, Germany - June 24, 2019.) TOPPAN Printing Co., Ltd. (TOPPAN) has signed an agreement with Wrede Industrieholding GmbH & Co. KG (WREDE) to acquire 100% of the shares of INTERPRINT GmbH (INTERPRINT). The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2019, once the merger control proceedings have been completed.

TOPPAN, based in Tokyo, Japan, strengthens its leading position in the global printing industry with the acquisition of INTERPRINT. TOPPAN has set itself the goal of expanding its activities outside Japan and achieving an international share of 30%. "We are delighted with INTERPRINT's leading design expertise and exceptional and long-standing customer relationships. These form the basis for our future growth not only in Europe but also in the rest of the world," said Hideo Yoshikawa, CEO of TOPPAN Europe GmbH.

INTERPRINT becomes part of the TOPPAN Group. The established INTERPRINT brand name will be retained and will serve as a platform for TOPPAN's decor printing activities outside Japan.

"Over the past 50 years, INTERPRINT has been an outstanding economic success story, also thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of its management team. Our decision for TOPPAN as strategic buyer is a signal to all employees and customers worldwide that INTERPRINT will remain a reliable partner in the future", said Michael Sindram, Managing Director of Wrede Industrieholding.

"We are delighted that we have achieved our most important goal of finding a financially strong and reliable new shareholder for INTERPRINT.
